A 1990 Land rover 90 would have had power steering as standard,so yours must be an early 90.Has it got galven capping's?on the body.
Yes you can fit power steering to yours. You will need the bracket/pump from a turbo diesel.
My 1984 110 didn't have power steering it was a great improvement when it was fitted I think power steering was optional on all N/a engined defenders but I have read of 200tdis without it.
I dont think there were NA Defenders, werent they Ninety/One Tens?
Every Ninety I have ever seen had power steering, the early ones must have almost all been fitted with it by now. Steering must be pretty agricultural without.
Defenders always had it right from the off, or at least I have never sen one that didnt.
You are correct on all points, it was an optional extra originally I think then standard later on.
Agricultural without is an understatement.
It's not that bad. Like anything, you get used to it. In fact, it's probably good exerciseYes, tottot said B and C regs dont have it. I live and learn. As I said, all I have seen have been converted, and not surprised. Even a heavily laden 109 you need arms like a gorilla.
