Power steering pump renewal.

Noticed mine was leakin’ and causin’ my steering to be a wee bit dodgy at times, so here’s how Ah did it….

Workin’ from below, Ah slackened off the three bolts holding the adjuster plate on….

So’s Ah could remove the belt…

Next Ah took out the 3 bolts and let the pump drop enough to get access to the hoses…

Ah slackened off the jubilee clip on the inlet hose and then the union nut….

Before removing them and lettin’ the fluid drain off into a bucket .

Just a photie of the old and new pumps..

Next, Ah tried a couple of different ways to try and remove the pulley bolts. Ended up stickin’ the pulley in the vice and usin’ two spanners to free one bolt off ….

Once Ah got one bolt off, Ah stuck a thin screwdriver through the hole and jammed it so’s Ah could remove the other two bolts..

Next Ah stuck the bracket plate in the vice and removed the bolts (notin’ which way it was fitted to the old pump)….

stickin’ it on the new pump…

And refittin’ the pulley…

After that it was just a case of refittin’ the pump and makin’ sure the connections were done up nicely before fillin’ up the reservoir with some nice new ATF …

Then fillin’ up the reservoir and bleedin’ it all through.

That’s it, job done ;) :D

Just a wee update :- If after ye've bled the pump etc through properly (as per manual) and ye get a squeelin' noise and jerkin' on the steerin' wheel on full lock, chances are the pump is at fault!
Replaced the pump today (again) and everything is just fine now;)
