Has anyone fitted the 700 quid conversion kit which adds the steering ram to the original steering setup. Wanted to know how effective it is(cos its a lot of dosh). I understand i could easily remove it and xfer to my next series as well ?

a mate of mine as pinched a steering ram of a forklift he,s still in the process of scratching his head on the set up though as its a chassis up rebuild could be sometime before we see results

Has no one tried the kit ?, very tempted but really wana here from someone who has done it ? They must have sold 1 ?

700 quid is a lot of money.
you sometimes see kits from Defenders on e-bay a lot cheaper than that.

don't forget that you need a new crankshaft pulley as well as the pump, steering box, header tank and pipes.

The bolt on kit comes complete with all bits required, its a bolt on RAM so the original steering is not altered, think that helps my tax free status which i loooooove.

But yes, its lots a dosh , but i can remove and take to my next LRO easily which was the excuse i made to myself when considering it.

But the fact that its a bolt on kit not part of the steering gear made me wonder how well it would work, hence the Q
