Dear All, losing will to live here and hope you can help.

Replacing power steering pump hoses but am struggling with suppliers as to which is the correct part #. The hose is part #1 here https://www.lrworkshop.com/diagrams...ering-column-lower/power-steering-pipes_53705 [LR is a Def 200tdi, originally a 2.5TD]

This issue is the correct size of male connection that fits the rear of the pump

Here pic of pump and thread

its part 3 in your pic, is pump 200tdi disco or defender

Hi James, I thought it was part #1 as this exits the rear of the pump. The side exit is just an open hose end onto hose stub fitted with a jubilee clip [see pic #1 hose stub]. Have no idea if pump disco or defender, but I'm gauging it's a defender, as is the engine from original conversion.

thats just a diagram you want pump to box pipe

id say it was defender there are 2 pumps with different numbers but look the same ntc8287 and ntc9070- doesnt look like banjo bolt is listed

Thanks James, agreed it's ntc8287...but still struggling with the correct hose/pipe part number that gives 1. both end fittings same as the box end, or 2. box end std fitting with o-ring, pump end onto banjo fitting :. now need to find banjo fitting part # :(

your pump looks banjo fitting to me

Okay, good news. When I took the PAS assembly apart I'd forgotten I'd put the two piece banjo into a jar of WD40 to soak/clean up...and hey presto, after rummaging around found jar with clean banjo. Now to track down new copper washers and the little rubber seal...

Am I the only one who puts parts away in a "logically safe place" only to forget where the safe place was...?

they should be dowty washers for the banjo

James/All, as share for future reference...Defender PAS system is NTC8287 pump with rear two piece banjo, 2x Dowty washers, 1x rubber ring seal and high pressure pipe NTC6731 - the pipe has std male fitting at the steering box end, larger female fitting to pump banjo end.
