hi all,
i've just converted my 110 v8 to a 4 bolt power steering box (from 3) recon from paddocks and a 300tdi power steering pump (new) i made a bracket for the pump by machining 20mm of a 3.9 disco bracket and using a pulley of a ford transit ( same pcd) my problem is i,ve got no power steering at all.... the pipes are from the disco.. straight fit ..what have i done wrong??? any help much appreciated, paul.

Assuming that you have a reservoir that is full and you have bled the pipes, then there's not a lot to go wrong really.

Usual things, check fluid level in the reservoir and bleed the air out, nothing else to go wrong, it's a sealed circuit with no other connections.

if you have a air lock in the box extremely rare crack the bleed screw open on the box with the engine idling see if you have fluid coming out under pressure if not then it could be a fault pump

no its ever so slightly smaller... i didn't see a problem with this ...its not like the v8 revs to 8k rpm....ive just took the pressure relief valve out of the pump.. just to see if the spring was broke or it was anything painfully obvious. my next plan is back to the scrap yard to get the pump from the disco that i took the bracket off . so i can then hopefully eliminate the pump side of things... ive had the pipe off the top of the steering box with the engine running and its got little to no pressure..
