So I purchased my 2001 2.5 DHSE P38 in May. She was in a right mess.
I immediately added a New Radiator, New Diesel Tank. Then I could drive her. Hi/Lo range Work great. Air suspension, works great also.
Since then I have:
Updated the wheels from 16 to 18 Inche
New Grille
Painted Tailgate + New Decal
New Hevac Unit
New Blend Motors (and calibrated them)
Heated Seats Repaired. (Nice touch)
Full Oil Service
New ABS ECU (Wabco D)
Got a Hawkeye diagnostic (very helpful)
Fixed SatNav system
New Battery
Replaced Turbo Hoses
New EGR Solinoid
She is lovely....but I am trying to sort out a power problem.....
She pulls off ok, not quick (well she wouldn't be) and she can cruise at 80 ok. But there are moments when the foot goes down, there is a lot of reluctant reving at about 3000. The MPG is about 22 (24 on long run) which is not as good as I had hoped. When I hit a hill in cruise, the revs will jump up with lots of noise for a fraction and then drop back.
I have reattached the MAP Sensor lead that had dropped off, replaced the MAF sensor (which had bust). I have ordered a new intercooler as the one on her looked totally knackered, all the fins where missing or broken. I have removed a Cold Start Unit, which the car does not need, as it always starts, and starts quickley.
The Hawkeye shows a Crank Speed Sensor fault, which I can not clear. If I unplug the sensor, the car goes nuts!!! So I wonder if in fact it is working!!
There is no smoke out of the back.
Basically, she is becoming a lovely car, but I have one power fault that I can't seem to fix.....
Any advice welcome...
Rachel
PS I have a passenger Outstation Communication Fault also, has anyone had one of those. The Electric controls work fine, but they don't communicated with the BeCM.
