Hi guys I have done a search but I am unable to find the answer.

I have owned my discovery td5 for just over 2months now since owning it i have noticed an irregular power loss when driving. Some times it starts and pulls like a train then others it starts fine but stuggles to get up the slightest of inclines flat out. During a drive to wales yesturday it did this a number of times but also I felt a judder and 2 lights illuminated for a second then went off again these lights were

fuel filter: excessive amounts of water in fuel
check engine: illuminates at any other time, the system is faulty- seek qualified assistance urgently.

these lights only illuminate for a second then go off again. This has happened another 2 times today. I have had a slight water loss but I think this was due to a leaking hose on the top of the engine which I have now replaced the jubilee clip and seems to have sealed. After driving to running temperature and squeezing the pipes they have pressure built up in them but when you squeeze them the water returns back into the water tank.

Apologies for the essay but I cant explain it any other way.

Many thanks to Replys Scott

I would replace the fuel filter first as its the cheapest option.
I suspect the hose is the first signs of head gasket failure, the top hose clip cylinder head end?

Hi thanks for the reply, yeh it's the hose at the top where it joins the head there is a Mark where the coolant as been dripping so hopefully that's where the water has been going. How much would I be looking at for annew headgasket to be put on?

Head gaskets typically last 200,000 miles, which is considered about the lifetime of most cars. That means, if you look after your car and follow the service schedule or just ask for help in coursework writing help, you should never be faced with a blown head gasket.

Siphon the tank or drain it.. let the diesel settle , the water will collect at the bottom., The you can reuse the diesel an inch above the water level...
