Hi all,

I have had the same worrying symptoms a couple times now.

2011, 2.4 TDCI Puma.

2nd gear, 20 mph, foot to the floor, RPM tops out at 2000rpm and no pull at all, vehicle maintains speed but that's about it.

I believe this is about the RPM that the turbo kicks in so thought this may be at the root of the problem?

Thank you

does engine light come on,its a variable vane turbo,if its not adjusting the vanes it will be down on power

Like James says the turbo is a variable vane type and will boost from ticker upwards, at 2000 rpm the engine is making a lot of torque already. The air intake system has known weaknesses, check all hoses from the turbo to the engine, the run from the turbo to the intercooler is the weak link. And the intercooler has plastic inlet and outlet boxes with an ally core. The boxes fail where they join the core, the ally splits vertically on the joins - hard to see but if you take the front grill off (just a few screws to remove) and the cowl over the cooling fan (another few screws) inspection can be made. Oh, and first check the air filter is in good condition.
