57 plate defender 90 XS Standard radio.

In short, it turns itself on when the car is locked. I heard it, unlocked the car, turned it off with the button, locked with the fob again.

came back out an hour or two later, and the radio had turned itself back on.

any ideas?

My brother has been using my 99 P38 while I have been away and he tells me the radio has been doing the same thing. He pulled the fuse at the back. Have not had time to investigate. Would be interested if anyone knows the possible cause other than poltergeist.

Sounds like a short between the main radio power wire and the permanent live.for.the memory.

Thanks for that. I will have a look at the connectors and wiring. That radio has been pulled out and put back at least half a dozen times so wiring could have been damaged.
