Hi,

Got a '66 seies with 2A with positive earthed wiring which I've started restoring. Is it now the time to change this to negative earth or keep it original? Assume that the industry standard went to negative for good reason or are there any benefits for positive earth apart form the novelty? Have noticed that around any thing electrical (lights etc) there appears to be a lot of rust and numerous earthing cables added because of lack of connection.
Comments appreciated.

The benefits of Positive earth is that the Positive end of the spark is 10% to 20% hotter than the Neg end therefore the inner core of a spark plug can be kept cooler as the outer is now the positive and also has good thermal conductivity with the cylinder head.
Thats the only benifit i could find on Pos earth.

Ps
I swaped mine over with littel pain.
