Hi there

Im new to all this forum stuff!
Been a landy owner and offroader for years, but new to this kind of thing. I have a question to all you off road guys. I have a classic Range Rover fitted with a 200 tdi, I managed to pick up a hydraulic winch which I intend to mount on it, but it's real heafty (obviously!). I was thinking of upgrading to heavy duty spring to help out, but I recon heavy duty defender ones would fit? These should take even more weight if im not mistaken. Can anyone out there help? Will defender ones fit?

Here in anticipation.

Hi cheers for the reply, the forum things all a bit new to me. I see your from Yorkshire, I know a good bloke near Halifax who does second hand bits for landrovers, he used to work for a main dealer aswell so a usefull guy to talk too. Bought a LT77 of him the other day I'll find his number out and get back to you if you like?.

Hi Grunt

The guys email is partssalvagedirect@yahoo.co.uk and his mobile is 07866763070. He sell's stuff on ebay really helpful bloke. Like I said I got a LT77 of him complete with transfer box for a real good price. He's a easy going kind of chap, looks like father/son outfit oh it don't look like a gip-o outfit no manky dogs n transits to be seen. Not that there's anything wrong with manky dogs n transits!!!

Oh think the guys name is Adrian.

i like places that have manky dogs and transits, what are you calling a good price then?, welcome by the way ;)

Well the box was under a third of the cheepest price I could find a service exchange unit for! Put it this way I hired a van and did a 600mile round trip and im well happy with it!
Don't want to roger the poor guy I did get it over ebay and did sneek in at the last mo! She seems to be a good-un aswell! No more backlash than normal!!!!!

horses fer courses young man, we have all been rogered by ebay in our time, and we have all done our fair share of rogering, for example, i sold an oxford welder for a fiver(rogered), but then i got a defender bonnet fer a quid(rogering), so come on, spill the beans, what did yer pay ;)

Sorry yella disco!

You waz hiding on page two! Still trying to get to grips with this here forum business!

Yeh I's well happy with it! I ruined the last one, still it was worth it! I was wading real deep! No one else would venture in - so I went for it, got through looked cool! - I was de man! Until I was on my way home, a noise started sounded bad! I knew up the road there was a pull in just up the way, tryed to make for it but stopped dead! bugger!!! Got it home on my mates trailer got underneath drained the tranfer box and well lots a water!!! Traced my extended breather and yep she was split!!!! Arse!

Ebay to the rescue!

Liking the disco is she ex AA - fitted out with tool boxes in the back?

My mate's cut the back off his disco - bob tailed ere, put air lockers on etc she's awsome! Goes anywhere!!!! She looks like a pig though! Mind you weve all had a pig and functions better than looks I guess!!!!!
