Hi All,

I was doing some nice off-roading at Rivington Pike today (video below).
Although the video makes it look flat...it is a bit steep in most places. On the downhill part I am in Low range 1st gear - just letting it trickle down..then it popped into neutral....put it in gear again and it was fine all the way down....went back up to the top and came down again...same thing. It doesn't do it in high range...what should I be looking for?

Mine is the 76' Series 3...not the Range Rover (being driven by my mate's new girlfriend!!)

if its jumping out of gear in the gear box ,you could try and see if mainshaft rear nut is fully tight (can be seen if rear top passenger side plate is removed )failing that your gearbox has worn dog teeth and/or too much endfloat

Thanks...I will check that rear nut. It is odd that it only pops out once at the start of the downhill (every time)...then for another 10 mins of similar downhill driving it stays in gear. It doesn't do it at all going uphill !
