Hi all
so we've had our Freelander for almost 1 year now, and living in Finland, the last winter wasn't much fun when the heater is only blowing slightly warmer than luke warm air out and the temp gauge never goes higher than about 1/4 of the way.
The hoses into the firewall are both warm (not hot). And the liquid in the expansion chamber is also warm, so I presume there is circulation.
So i've been reading the forums for about a week now and it clearly seems like the culprit is a broken thermostat. So now i have decided to go for the thermostat mod in the top hose.
Our landy is the 2003 Td4 automatic. Now i have a couple of questions regarding the fitting:
Will the coolant be gushing out when i remove the top hose?
Is it required to bleed the system after fitting the thermostat?
Which way should the copper end be facing?
Judging by the pictures posted by everton, it seems to be a tight fit. Has anyone else fitted this on an automatic Td4??
