Just to let everyone know that there is a unmarked Police land rover driving around Beeley moor, Matlock, Holymoorside area.
Whislt i was parked having lunch he pulled in behind me and did the usual checks and he was asking what offroad routes people in the area use, my reply was get hold of a OS Landranger map and look them up like everyone else does, for some reason he didnt really like that answer and got a little mardy.

Heheheh, might have a go at 'bait the copper' tomorrow then .. ;)

Going through Chesterfield to Nottingham (round trip, via Deepcar/Sheffield, Matlock and Ripley)

He had a camera setup on the dash, its a dark blue colour with white wheels.

Well Paul i might see you about as im up on the hills with my son tomorrow.

A6 is shut just south of Buxton due to a landslide. Take the A515 south then cut across to the A6 or take A623 (will have to go north for a bit to Dove Holes)

Just been reading a thread over on LRO about a bunch of rock-climbers / mtb-ers causing a furoar over Stannage & houndkirk, threatening 'direct action' against 4x4's, damaging vehicles, digging trenches on the trail etc....
They've posted contact details for local plod, council NPA etc & encouraging any-one & every-one to cause us hassle.... take photo's reg-nos etc.
If plods up there could be in response to complaints they've generated.

No problems with that.
Personally I would prefer plod to be there - to ensure the legal passage of vehicles on a right of way.

Just got back from houndkirk everyone seemed friendly enough with me up there to be honest not many 4x4's up there today mostly trail bikes, didnt see and plod today though.

Kept my ears on the cb Paul D but never heard you mate shame i didnt get chance to say hello.

Didn't get there!

It happens, we had to do other stuff ... sorry.

Wife was out with her mates last night ... I ended up taxiing them home (6 drunken women should be, but isn't, fun in a Disco .. very, not theque) at ~3.30am, so she wasn't really in a fit state to go laning, 'specially not over bumps and rocks .. :)
