Ello all! Wanting to put a board across the back of me 90 hardtop so I can sorta sleep int inside( I'm a short arse) for beer festival next weekend. Anyone around Basingstoke/Winchester/Alton area south Hampshire got any 6ft x 4ft roughly size board? Thick mdf like 30mm or less if its ply. will pay a SENSIBLE PRICE. thanks.

You might be better at DIY than me, if fact its probably a given :D

However I recently put a floor in mine. After researching it I found that one piece of board is a mistake, its almost impossible to get it in the Landy and makes the space underneath useless.

Also the span between the wheel arches is too much unless you use thick board as it will bend in the middle.

Mine is now done with wood planks with the 2nd spare wheel underneath which is exactly the right height to support the middle. Its easy to life them up to get stuff out from under them :D:D

Yeah good point there mate! Best bet get two boards so easyer to put in/out etc or just one big sheet nd cut it in 2! Job done. Just need the sheet!

Cheers RH. Will take a drive up b&q latter. Did want to avoid as was looking at sheets in there and near enough 80 quid for 6x4 sheet of ply!

Yep. They take the **** with their sheet timber prices. A customer, we were doing a loft conversion for bought some 6ft x 2ft sheets of 12mm ply, & paid nearly £200. We got him to return it and bought him a 8ft x 4ft sheet from builders merchants for less than £30.

I bought my boards from the local timber merchant.

Not sure it would work for you, but the lovely guy there cut the boards to length, cut some of the width off the final board and then fitted them into the Landy for me :D:D:D

Oh and he only charged for the wood :D

A sheet of 18mm Hardwood ply is £34 at my Builders Merchants. They'll cut it to any size you like for 50p per cut.

Is ridiculous how the larger companies can get away with charging so much. My local merchants are useless and unable to order in at the minute otherwise would have gone to them there buying in from another firm At x + there cost ontop. I'll have a butcher's anyway and see how my wallet is feeling!

those loft boards cost about £7 a pack and ya need 2 packs. so £14 to line the back out. if ya wanna reinforce em to stop em bending. 2"x2" under em will do the job ya need about 8mtrs (one length for each board placed under or close to each joint)

MY 110 with bed in the back.
