I plan to make a start ply Lining the 90 over the weekend just been gathering some bits I'll need.

Going to use 6mm ply covered in some acoustic carpet, planning on also applying some Silent Coat to the side and roof.

Anyone had any experience with this product? How much did you need to cover the interior surfaces? Any other things you can recommend, some form of cheap thermal insulation layer may help?

I'll make sure I take some pictures and post them up for those that may be interested.

Adding just that will make a large difference to the warmth of the vehicle. No need to go mad with it.

I've done the back of mine with Rawsons Classmate brilliant acoustic carpet will post pics

I did mine with three camping mats and some fabric of ebay so you don't need to spend loads as most of the noise comes from the wheels arches and tub floor

Marmaduke, what fabric did you use? I'm really keen to do something similar, but I'm not sure what to use!

What have people used on the floor? Would this stuff be hard wearing enough for that?

Not done it in a landy, but when I converted a vw panel van into a camper, I used acoustic glass wool and ply. Great because its thermal properties match acoustic, and its fire retardant too.

I covered the back of my 110 with the flashing tape, then camping mats, then planked the sides and roof with b+q 9mm cladding. Much easier than wrestling with sheets of ply but a lot more screws. As for screws I used screwfix stainless turbo ultra 25mm , pilot hole needed in the ali or the head rips off.
The floors got flashing tape then thick rubber mat.
I also put a partition in behind the seats. Permanent behind the driver removable behind the passenger /centre, clear plastic in the middle, the rest is cladding. Shelf across the gutter and bulkhead to fix the partition to. I removed the head rests ( they only came up to my neck!) from the seats and stuck 6 inch foam rubber on the partition to replace them ... Much better.! The partition makes the most difference it keeps the heat in the cab and the noise in the van body!! The engine becomes much more the dominant factor of noise.

Its so much fun reading stuff like this on here, must remember to turn the heat down on the hevac when iv got my heated seats on cruising at 70 with my cc on and adel playing on the CD player in the back ground. :p:p:p:p

I've got some bits ordered and on the way, not sure how my attempt will look but the back of the land is quite a simple shape to line. Think for the roof I may just go with some silent coat to dampen vibration, closed cell foam (camping mat) then cover with carpet to match the ply side.

Does the spray adhesive cause much over spray mess in the car? Better applied to the surface or the material?

I'd rather put up with the drone of tyre and engine noise than listen to Adel, at least the droning noise goes away when you slow down..... If you listen hard enough can you hear your vehicle depreciating? Cos funnily enough you never hear that driving a Defender

I used 6mm ply and some carpet off ebay.
I also used the same stuff on the headlining.

Ply was pretty simple to cut, just plenty of measuring and a saw.

I had planned to leave it at that, but I had miles more carpet left than I than I thought I would so did the centre bulkhead and wheelwells. Although I had to buy some camping mats to go underneath.

Did the rear door card too.

Was all much easier than I thought, so did my brothers 90 a few weeks later.

Mine was done when I got it. Need to take the roof liner down above the driver though as it's starting to sag. Then redo the front doors as it's a bit sunbleached and tatty

Not sure admin are going to like that. Could be construed as using the forum for advertising! ;) :)
You should have a look at yer Intro Fred! :D

I bought 5m2 of camper van insulation (silver stuff) for £45 there about.Did the entire floor and still have a chunk lefter over. also if you are replacing your carpet in house, underlay is good and the side walls and roof before plyboarding and carpet the walls or roof too!
