Hi I am replacing my old head unit and want the steering wheel controls to work. It appears you have to unplug the original harness and plug a new one in ........ when I traced my harness back to what appears to be the plug assembly ....... it is in the bowels of the center consul at the bottom :doh:doh......is there any advice you guys can give.... re access and unplugging.

you should only have to plug in another short harness into the existing plugs that used to plug into the old head unit.

no need to trace any cables
