hi i have just purchased a 1988 3.5efi classic. it has been convertyed to run on gas and some clown took away the fuel tank. plus disconnected the ecu under drivers seat so to get the thing started it has to be turned over fast and up she fires. now what i need is a picture of the relays under drivers seat next to ecu as all mine are missing. plus do thease have cats as i dont see none in the exhaust system. plus cant belive how small the down pipe diameter of the downpipes are compared to the 3.9.so on that basis can i fit 3.9v8 down pipes onto my exsisting 3.5 manifolds or are the manifolds diffrent as should get some more power having the 3.9v8 down pipes on been much bigger diameter. any help is good thanx

Hi.

I used to have an '89 3.5, which I am sure didn't have a cat(s).

Can't help on the relays, sorry.

As for the downpipes, I am pretty sure the manifolds are different, but an exhaust shop should be able to look up the sizes and tell you. I am not sure that it would be a good idea to fit bigger pipes anyway - doesn't it need a certain amount of back pressure to run smoothly?

My experience of exhausts on the 3.5 is that I was always replacing bits - and the garage hated them because there were so many different bits to try and line up and joints to seal. You might want to consider stainless, as it might be economic in the long run.

If someone has ripped it apart it was likely knackered.
I'd be looking for a disco rrc hotwire 3.5 complete efi kit or 4 barrel carb.
Or just run on gas
