Hi, yesterday after lowering my drivers window it would not come back up. After stripping it down this morning I found one of the bars had snapped, so another mechanism was sourced and after a fifty mile round trip the new one purchased and was fitted as soon as I got home only to find it stops about an inch from the top and starts ratcheting. Am I to believe that there is a way to adjust the mechanism or is the one I bought also faulty ?

I think the one you have is faulty...the gear teeth have stripped causing it to skip about and knock.

Sorry!!

Cheers, its as I suspected, so another 50 mile round trip to take it back and get another, thanks for quick reply

I agree its the gear teeth, I had it on mine but I managed to strip it down and tighten up the teeth and a bit of straightening and it is fine now. If you cant fix it I will see if I have one you can have.

I would check that the plastic stop is still in place and also the mechanism has not got a crack in it as that can cause the gears to start racheting

Thanks chaps, stripped out old/new one while at work this morning, took motor off and found there are around 3 of th teeth missing so replacement is faulty, no worries as already spoken to breakers and swapping it tomorrow, just one of those things lol

JOB DONE, replacement from breakers now fitted and works a treat, took motor off 1st replacement before I took it back to swap and about 4 teeth where missing off mechanism, at least its sorted and many thanks for replies guys
