Morning,
Sorry I know it's been covered many times before but because of my health at the moment I'm finding it difficult to diagnose what's happening and even jacking the car up was hard.
The front off side wheel has play holding the wheel at 9 and 3, none at 6 and 12. Some shaking through the steering wheel under braking, possibly a little in a straight line. Some rattling which I can hear at low speeds with the window down. No 3 Amegos showing.
Does this sound like a front hub ?
The cars done 100k and I can't find any record of a replacement front hub in the service docs that came with it. Rear ones yes but not front.
Normally I'd just pull everything off and look and do it myself but I can't manage that right now.
Also if it's the hub can anyone recommend a good replacement, I've got to supply all the bits. I understand that the reluctor ring should have 60 teeth on it not to cause other problems, is this correct ?
Sorry for asking but I have to now.
Thank you.
Graham.

If it is your hub, make sure you get

TAY100060 G
if it doesn't have a G at the end of the part number. you'll be replacing it again sooner rather than later.

Play when you're holding the wheel at 3 and 9 o'clock would tend to indicate a problem with the track rod end rather than the wheel hub.
Since you say your health might be a bit of an issue at the moment, I'd be inclined to have your local indie garage take a look for you, especially if it is play in the offside track rod end, it could mean changing the whole track rod, that's the way it's built.

+1

Thank you all for your replies.
But a worn track rod end wouldn't cause the noise I'm hearing from the front wheel !
Hope I feel a little better in the morning and if so I'll get it jacked up and look again.
Though thanks again I appreciate your time to reply.

Thank you all for your replies.
Just had it in the air and there's no visible play in any of the track rod ends but still that small movement and a slight knock when holding the wheel it at 3&9.
With the wheel off it looks like it's had a recent hub fitted. No idea what an old stake nut would look like but this is newish but nothing in its service history about front hubs.
But now sure the wobble under braking is the disc, with a straight edge across it its visibly warped. Though can some one please tell me about pad wear ?
The outer pad is low but the inner has lots on it, sorry but still working my way round a D2 after 17 years with D1's with different brakes.
So still the play and a little wobble in a straight line and the noise at low speeds. Just wondering of the hub wasn't tightened enough, but....
Thank you.

Pads sound like a stuck piston. If the hub itself looks original it’s due a change the play at only on position is a bit of a mystery if it’s not a steering ball joint.
