Hi All,
Haven't been here for a while, just busy at work life etc but hope all are well. Did manage to get away to France for a few days this week and on the second day heard a rattle sort of noise and started looking for loose trim! Eventually after a particularly noisy drive back from the zoo unloaded the family and had a good dig around under the bonnet and found a failed drive belt idler. Took it off and tried the local garage who said (I think) he could get one for the next day. No luck so drove 30miles to St Malo at 50mph and every thing crosssed left the car in the terminal car park and hired a car for a couple of days. Ferry day arrived and swapped load from hire car to RR and tried to be calm as we started, where checked in customs and boarded the ferry and then where able to get off and the few miles home. I did see a well prepped classic and asked if he could keep an eye on me as I drove off the ferry and out of the customs area! The car probably did about 150miles on the failed bit. Changed it and the glow plugs today....

Thought the pics where interesting and not sure whether to count myself lucky or not?

One of the 'good but dubious' features of Land rovers is that they will mostly continue to go, until they absolutely can't and the bill has grown exponentially ... I'd say you were lucky .. damn lucky .. ;)
