hi guys, I'm in need of guidance please. I have just got a 2014 freelander 2 td4 s, but no matter what I do I cannot get the phone to work. I don't have green and red buttons on the steering wheel they are on the dashboard near the heater/radio controls. There is also another button on the dash marked PHONE, but as I say they don't do anything.
Many thanks, for any help

The phone is not connected in all of the cars that have the buttons, some to do with the level of spec. I have the same on my f2 sd 2010, buttons for phone on radio but no phone connections. If you browse through other phone threads you will see people asking if it is possible to retro fit, (believe it is possible but not worth the expense and effort. Thinking of taking out the stock set up on mine and eventually fitting a double din radio with bells and whistles to over come this.

Cheers snaggapuss, that sounds about right. That explains why nothing happens when these buttons are pressed.

Just out of curiosity does anybody know how much "retro fit" phone connection would cost??

You can get aftermarket kits from as little as £20. However be aware that there could be a new law around the corner which prohibits the use of mobile phones while driving, whether hands free or not.
