Hi there
About a fortnight ago freelander wouldnt start
When i turned the key it just wouldnt catch
Took it to garage who ran diagnostic
Got told it was a problem with high pressure fuel pump
Had it replaced still wouldnt start
Took it to different garage
On the work sheet it says
Find split seals on the regulator valverepair and refit check for leaks
Cost 300
Freelander now starts fine, left it with my dad as i was away last week and he had it and my dogs, and he noticed a leak on the drive
Iv had a look today and it smells and looks like petrol to me
Coming from just in front of the rear wheel about a foot in to the car underneath
To me it looks right next to fuel tank, just wondering a few things
1 are the seals they are talking about near where i described
2 if they didnt tighten something up properly or buggered something up to cause this leak should i expect to have to pay for them to look at it and fix it
Labour was 50 quid an hour so dont fancy paying another 4 hours of it for them to refix something that shouldnt be happening just after having a mechanic fiddle around in that region of the car
