I know i posted this in the Def bit but thought id shout in here too

Any got a 2.25 or even 2.5 petrol engine spare?

Yep, I have a 2.25 petrol engine which runs very well. Took it out in August tio fit a 2.25 D engine. It didnt smoke, passed the MOT has a webber carb and is a sweet as a nut. Sensible offer and its yours. Bristol based but I have a trailer so delivery (at cost only) is a possible. Mike.

alright, i have one which i have just taken out my series 3. open to sensible offers, will come with a weber carb on manifold, all ancileries included aprt from alternator. the dizzy will need a new set of points and condensor etc..
im based just outside sheffield

how do you tell if its a 3 or 5 bearing? i dont know, there not worth that much are they?? just give a figure. its also got a unleaded head.

whats the age of the landy as the engine are only any good to me if they are 5 main bearing version

£25.00. Comes with starter motor but thermostat missing! 3 bearing (I think)

If you can see the original colour anywhere 3 bearing are a greeny blue, 5 bearing a brownish red.
There are differences in the casting, but I can't remember what!

Hi Joe, sorry i'd forgotten about this one - i'm now sorted for 2.25 petrols for a while now but if you ring Frida Turner on 01342 834713 she'll have it off you for 75 to 90 quid - and she'll arange it's collection

parently they are running out of 5 bearing engines to re-manufacture and are having to source them individually rather than in bulk as they've been able to do previoulsy (from the MOD)
