Hi all

When I bought my land rover I was told the the 4.203 that it was fitted with does not have an oil pressure sensor fitted to it, apparently it never had one:confused:.

I was just wondering if anybody with this engine has retrofitted one to theirs and if so how have they done it?

Regards

Olly

hi
have exact same engine in my 109, its got an aftermarket presseure gauage and it taps into rear side of block just under the fuel filter housing with a pastic pipe off to gauge in dash.

i'll grab a photo and post it later, should be dead easy to do.

Pressure gauge connects via plastic tube and must enter an oil gallery just belo fuel filter bowl in passenger side rear.

Pics show and tell better.

Ive had two of these, and got a 4/248 in the tractor, and they all had oil lights. My memory is the sensor screws into the main oilway on the side of the block.

Well you just need a T piece to fit gauge and keep sensor as well.

Martyn ...Why did you change injectors are they bad & Need recon?

They look just reconned, hes posted pics of em in another fred ;) He doesn't need em cos hes got a 200TDi, not a Perky.

Thanks very much for your replies. I will have a look at this bit of the engine later and see what's there :)

I'm ok for injectors at the moment thanks. I got quite a few spares for the motor when I bought the car :)

Just had a look underneath properly, turns out i do have an oil pressure switch fitted but the wire going to it does look rather decrepit. Looks like i have a spot of we wiring to do......oh joy :p

Also turns out that there is some kind of water drain tap just above the oil switch that looks as if it has been leaking all over the switch for some time, odds are that might have something to do with it :(
