I have no experience of D2, but a D1 can be transformed by fitting a full size intercooler - I.E. full width. (PM me if you want )
Now, having said that, the fueling needs to match the intercooler ( easy on a D1 ), but on a D2, you will, I would have thought, need a remap to make full and proper use of it. Presumably, "Alive" will know about this.

The other thing I notice in your link, is that said part is a blue box thing. The allisport ones are similar money, and I would suggest more likely to live longer. YMMV.

Speaking from a D1 point of view, yes it makes a big difference.

Turning the question back to you, how's the heavy duty torque converter? Does it make a difference? Is it worth it? Ashcrofts?

We fitted a HD converter to a D2 in standard form it made a huge difference to all aspects of performance I should think it will do the same for a D1 AWP

Yes the HD torque converter on the D2 is amazing. Basically you capture the torque at a much lower rev range, so you don't need to rev the nuts off the engine to get some forward motion. Its quieter and more smooth too...you don't feel the gear changes. Great mod but expensive.
