Hi can anyone give me the part number for the auto gearbox temp sender on a 98, 4.0, p38 ? as i keep getting gearbox overheat message even from startup:doh: checked all wiring which seems ok.

Hi, I had the same problem with my P38. Have you undone the connector plug and checked no stray oil has found it's way past the seal? I cleaned mine and it's been fine since.
Can see only one temperatue sensor listed which is on the transfer box and that is STC1973 @ £19.57 incl. VAT. The sealing washer is STC2243. Both are available from Rimmerbros and no doubt elsewhere
