I had a problem with the electric park brake sticking on, which was sorted by my garage, but they told me the module would not reset after I'd pulled the cable, and a new one would cost nearly £1,000 fitted. Is this realistic, or is there another way to fix this? I'd really appreciate any advice.

If it needs replacing but one and fit it yourself

There is a dedicated D3 forum and I suspect you will get more info there. Do put an introduction in the new members section on here or you will get a right bashing from certain senior members.

I really dont get the D3 and 4, fabulous cars no doubt but maintaining them appears to be utterly probitive, and I cant see older ones being kept on the road.............

Thanks for the tip. I've put a bit of intro waffle on the New Members section. I like the idea of fitting this myself. I guess I just need to loacte a Haynes for the D3 and get the bits off ebay...

I've serviced a fair few D3's and never had to replace the module yet. And remember dealers charge stupid prices, I've heard of £100 to change a headlight bulb !!!
