Hi folks im new on here before i take my freelander 2 to a garage got issue with a parkbrake fault showing on dash also when engine running after ive move the epb wont engage only when turn engine off has any1 got idea thanks

So you can apply the hand brake using the switch when the engine is off, but not when it's running?

That makes me think it's a bad earth problem.

If you get someone to apply the hand brake with the engine running... can you feel any movement in the handbrake motors applying the brake pad? Be careful where yer poke yer fingers and make sure the Freelander cant move/roll.

When try to apply brake carnt or wont come on park brake light flashes on dash can hear motor when switch engine off
 
I would start by looking over the brakes to see they're ok, first. Then read codes if theres nothing obvious that needs fixed. You can manually power the hand brake motors yerself if you disconnect the from the car electrically.
