Anyone suggest a good pallet courier who won't double the price to send an engine to Aberdeenshire? I'm not charging the buyer any more as I don't think it's fair (and know it annoys some of you Northern guys) about increase in postage costs, but, could really do with a better price.

I normally book through Speedshift.

Or, if anyone is driving past Swadlincote on route to Aberdeenshire and wants some cash to take an engine with them... :)

Have you tried shipley.com it's an auction based collection delivery site bit like ebay but for couriers. you list ya item they quote you to deliver. An option would be to ship it to the furthest depot speedshift etc will take it before adding Jockanese tax. then use that as the collection point on Shipley..

ah, good idea, thanks.

Another one similar is Anyvan.com, same idea as Redhands.
Sometimes you can get a good deal, especially if you get a pair of bidders competing.

Cheers all, pallets gone now :)

Ended up sending it through a 3rd party but with Palletline

Apparently it took him nearly 15 minutes to get it on his lorry... :D
