I'm busy repainting all the rusty bits from the engine compartment and have got to this intercooler pipe (archive photo from before I dismantled everything and scattered it around my garage)

How hot does this get in use? Should I be using a high temperature paint, and if so, will engine paint do?

Thanks

It does get hot(ish), engine paint will be fine.
I used a matt black, wood stove paint on mine (because I had some laying around) which has been fine although possibly OTT.

I was going to recommend stove paint but that was on the assumption as above that because you drive and work on a land rover you will just have some laying around! if you are buying paint it is definitely overkill and any high temp paint will work.
