Hi wammers, No appreciable drive in any gear, was waiting for gate to be opened, drove through, put footbrake on whilst waiting for the passenger, drove off up a quite steep hill and drive got less and less until no drive at all!
2/4 wheel drive-1-2-3-D nothing! Reversed 1.5 miles until on flat safe area, tried again. ...possibly a little creep forward but no discernable drive!

Sounds like forward clutch is not engaging for some reason. Engagement of forward and reverse main drive clutches is manual activation. Could be valve block sticking, could be some thing more. When did you last change transmission oil and filter, what colour is fluid? Sometimes things can be cured with an oil and filter change and a couple of tubs of Lucas, would cost about £40.00 or £50.00 quid or so. But a lot cheaper than a box if it works.

have you checked that there is fluid in there and have not burst a cooling pipe and lost all fluid?
So dropped auto sump, No bits of anything clear red oil ! cleaned filter, put back with New o'rings and topped with Dex3. .....
Still no forward motion?
But did notice that selecting Sport/manual, light on initially, but goes off together with message center gear advice, (D, 1,2,3) and does not come back on until car turned off and restarted?
Diagnostics shows No codes!
Any ideas?
You may have a problem with the XYZ switch on the side of the box. That is where the dash gear info comes from. Even if forward clutch is being manually engaged there will be no drive if XYZ switch is not making contact and not pulling other clutches. Maybe worth a look.

Not managed to get very far at all, But Car getting too much hassle for me - After spending @ £2,000 on it
in past 2 years I've owned I think its time to sell on for what I can get as is.....(Hopefully £500-600)

I know this isnot helpful , but may I ask what year is it plse , as I may be very interested if ur thinking of getting rid of it
