No increase in manifold pressure under acceleration on diagnostics live data.
Ok I have been told the waste gate may be stuck on my p38.. this is what' is happening......vehicle runs great accelerates fine get up to speed ok can run fine for miles but sometimes on decelarating it loses power for 5 to 10 seconds the engine management light comes on....lift foot off accelerator and then accelerate light goes out...vehicle picks up

Sounds more like the FIP is tired or the chains are stretched so far the modulation goes out of range. Need diagnostics but you might get away with tapping the FIP ever so slightly towards the engine but that just puts off the inevitable. Better to do static timing, check the lift pump is pumping as well as it should and then see what is happening on diag.

If you have diagnostics @Datatek has an excellant way of doing timing modulation. Several of have used his method to get spot on results.

As above, certainly not the turbo waste gate. Could be FIP, leak off pipes, throttle pot, lift pump etc. Needs diagnostics because if the MIL light comes on there will be a fault recorded.
