hi all
i have just purchased a 96 4.0se range rover, trouble is the tow bar as such is welded solid onto the chassis rails with dropper plates.rear beam is 50x50mm box.It doesnt have a tow hitch only a row of 3 holes for an extended tow hitch (as per swan necks).
i can get one made up really easy but i dont know what height to have ball top from floor and distance from bumper facing rearwards.
car is on coil springs.

cheers for your help guys

Imo have it as high as possible. That way, if someone rams into the back of you, you will probs be saying "Oh dear, look what you've done to your bumper & radiator!" as opposed to "You moron, look what you've done to my car!!!!!!!!!!"

for caravans and ivor williams trailers,i think I had to set mine at 16" to the centre of the ball, As datatech says mesure what you are planning to tow,
