The air suspension Pump on my 2000 P38 keep cutting in and out all the time.

I have checked and there is no apparent air leaks. The suspension is working as it should and no error messages .

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Anna

There are several reasons why the pump can run too often,it could be a worn seal in the pump, worn height sensors,a leaky valve block etc.
All p38 RR's are at least 6yrs old now,age is working against them.Just because there is no fault message on the dash it doesnt mean there is nothing wrong with it.

did you check the timer under the driver seat ... sorrry for us it's on he left hand .. i don't know if you have the same .. if you need further info you can add me to your msn messenger .

Hi, the pump does cut in and out normally, although if it is doing it over a short time period then the compressor seal may be on its way out, take the filter off and see if it is sucking ok. Andy

Anna,

Does your vehicle lower itself if left overnight? If so, looks like you have a slow leak somewhere in the system.

I had this with my 1995 P38, but just put up with it, as it worked OK while driving.

Cheers!

do you mean in the hoses coming out from the eas box ?

the most fragile place is next to the exhaust under the vehicule , because it comes too hot especially while long trips ...
