P38 Monkey

Well-Known Member
As a truck lobbed a big stone into my screen, I shall have to replace it prior to the MoT. There are some strange antennae etc stuck on the screen and I just wanted to check if they should be there. This P38 is a Japanese import and had some old school satnav system and a TV decoder in it, all clutter now removed. On the photo you can see a downward pointing antenna on the left and two smaller ones, with some tracking stuck on the screen. I am assuming they are not required now and presumably I can cut them away? There is also a small square device stuck on the screen to the left of the mirror. Is that a sensor of some sort, temperature or similar?

The small square device could be a satnav aerial or possibly a tracker, the other aerials may be for TV, just guessing. None of the items are standard fit.

For the "stuff" on the windscreen, I'd try to shoot the birds that are depositing it.
Apologies...I just couldn't resist that quip. Warped sense of humour, I know. I'm from Lancashire don't you know!
Don't worry, you get lot's of skenskible advice to address your issues.

Wrong side of the hill:rolleyes::D
Mitigatingly, I now live in the East Riding of Yorkshire. I also have two wonderful grandchildren, BOTH having the temerity to be born in Barnsley! The ignominy of it...
BUT Keith, Lacashire is definitley the RIGHT side of the big 'ill..but Beverley is a wonderful place to live.

Yes, as ever, a good response - the antennae are later add-ons for the Japanese satnav and TV systems so I'll remove them.
I was born in Sheffield, so "t'other side of hill", but well enough travelled to know the difference between an eccles cake and a chorley cake.
