Hi I am getting desperate for advice before I have a nervous breakdown.
Started with Stater motor crunching so mechanic fitted starter from scrap yard. Still having problems with crunching so mech fitted new starting ring. Still having problems so reconditioned starter motor fitted by mechanic. would not start just dead AA said dud starter motor so brand new starter motor fitted but then mechanic said not enough life in battery to start so battery charged over night next morning just about started drove to work about mile & half but finishing time would not start so new battery fitted but still not starting entered EKA code locks and unlocks on remote light on dash lights up when locked goes out when unlocked only fault message windows and sunlight not set. seems to be shorting out leads off battery getting warm when trying to start same with starter motor.
Can anyone lead me in right direction. :violin:

First off I would check the wires to the starter are clean and free from rust. I would then check the earth straps are also ok. Just cos a battery is new it doesn't mean it aint knackered. It could have been sat on a shelf or concrete floor for ages. Get it tested. I think it is p38's that suffer from interference from domestic appliances. It could be the computer is staying awake at night (no I'm not joking). There is a cure for this. Hopefully another rangerover driver will be able to tell you more about this problem.
