My 2000 DSE has suddenly started making an intermittant screeching noise coming from the front drivers side wheel. It doesn't tend to happen when you are accelerating but is very noticable when you take your foot off and free wheel.
Local garage (non specialists) have checked it over for the basics but couldn't find anything wrong.

Any thoughts or suggestions from the rubbish description I've provided
