After 3 years I put my first dent in my beloved RR. I have damaged the rubber strip and bumper (see pic). I have taken it off as I was worried about it falling off, and I can't get it back on. Has anyone else any experience of fitting these? It slid off towards the rear very easily but "refuses" (!) to slide back on!

The bodywork beneath has a dent too, but I think I am lucky enough that a replacement rubber strip will cover that up. Does anyone know the best place to source one of these strips, please? And roughly what I should be looking to pay? The part info is on a sticker on the inside of the strip, but adding further to my foolishness, when trying to slide the strip back on I rubbed off part of the um, part number! It begins DGD 102...

Sorry if this is a bit garbled. This happened weeks ago and I am still gutted. I hit a stationary car, and thankfully it wasn't someone's pride and joy, and above all no-one hurt, but y'know it still hurts the pride!?!?!?

Anyway if anyone can offer any advice I'd be really grateful!

It's called "Rubbing Strip-Rear Quarter,R.H.", Part No. DGD102200.
They are held on with four self tappers (Part No. DA610045L) and four "Cupsacs" (BTR2923).

One of mine was hanging off and I had a real nightmare trying to stick it back on again. I only had one end hanging off though (the bit under the rear light). Started off by making it worse before it got better.

Discovered the easy way was to remove the clips from the bodywork (that wasn't easy - you have to grope around in the recess through the access panel inside - mind the sharp edges!), attach them to the strip and then it simply clips straight back in again (assuming you've got the clips in the right position).

All in all, a much more difficult job than it needed to be.
