Hi guys, i think i have bought a lemon of a 4.6 HSE p38(aren`t they all??) i love the car but am having a small problem trying to get hold of the eka code.i had the misfortune to have the key fob explode in a supermarket carpark and manage to lodge itself under the seat by the BECM, so after removing said seat my only keyfob became usless, the vehicle i have just found out was a jap import and is not on my local dealers database. anybody out there able to help me track down a way to get the vehicle to start with out the code?

News update, just had a call from traceabiliy(no idea who these are my dealer got in touch with them).
Because my car is a jap import there is no EKA code for or required so now i need to know how to resynk my key?
any and all help would be appreciated....

cheers gavbriggs, at the mo i am two days away from the car but upon my return i will try 1515.
i know i said that the car was a jap import but will it still be classed as a NAS spec car?
thanks again for advice.

next installment,
put in 1515 code via wife on the phone. Winner car started, next problem the key still refuses to remotely unlock/deactivate the alarm or lock the car.
anybody got any ideas hoy to reactivate this function?
thanks again for any advice given.

she's a very competent wife, mine wouldn't even try! lol!

press the button on the remote then unlock with key within 30 seconds

or

turn the key in the door whilst holding a button, then back to vertical and turn the other way whislt holding a button, try different combinations of this as i'm not sure of the sequence. hold the key in position for 5 or 10 seconds!

i would look a bit more on rangerovers and do a search on here as i'm sure its all been covered before(maybe not for NAS spec tho)

have had a deeper look at rangerovers.net and got a sequence of things to try again through the wife (fingers crossed) will let you know how i get on.

well got home this morning, had to open the car with the key again using EKA(1515), then tried key in to lock while holding the lock button and the news is good remote is functioning again woo hoo.
much thanks and good will to all.

hi gavbriggs i changed the batteries at the start of the saga. i am leaving the car overnight and if it is still working in the morning then good, if it doesnt work i will look into replacing the rf reciever in the boot.
Again many thanks for your time and know-how.

Well full day since "fixing" the car and i have to report that all is well. i even went back the the supermarket where it all started and no problems.
think i am just gonna have to keep on top of battery cx`s in the key.
thanks again gavbriggs if i`m ever down your way pint in order!
Andy.

ooh, you say supermarket! i read a thread on a forum that suggested a certain company with orange and white vans could/have interefered with the rf signals somehow and screwed up people rangeys in much the same way as yours!
