Hi, I have this problem, where when you go to select a gear, you can hear a relay clicking away under the drivers seat, as its struggling to go in to gear.
I have just got my becm back from mtecuk, I sent it for another problem to do with the alarm and key fob, but wondered if it would cure this problem, but it hasn't.
So wondered if anyone has any idea, where to start looking?
The display does flash up gearbox fault, but not everytime.

"Gearbox Fault" Message

One interesting incident I experienced was the appearance of the "gearbox fault" message every time I went round a sharp right hand curve. The problem eventually proved to be a loose connector in a part of the harness that connects to the electronically controlled transmission. I have since heard from several other owners with the "Gearbox Fault" message. It apparently indicates that voltage to the transmission selector mechanism is insufficient. Another cause is failure of the transfer box ECU to communicate with the BeCM due to a bad connection or connector.

This might help.

if I change the battery I get gearbox fault message, cycle through gear selector and it's gone
