I have a T reg P38 that my OBDII fault code reader wont read. The Rave handbook lists the connection as OBDII for my model year(98) but my reader wont sync with it. Any ideas?
I have confirmed that the scanner works on other cars.

Scanners are as much use as a chocolate tea pot on P38's etc. They have dedicated software which can only be accessed by TestBook (Main Stealers), Rovacom/Rovacomlite or Autologic. The OBDII only refers to the standardised dignostic connector and not the system

And on later cars,(LR,Rover and MG products) that do conform to OBDII your scanner will only do powertrain stuff, not EAS or Hevac etc.

Thanks for that guys.

I was hoping to stay as far away from them main stealers as possible.

Anyone want to but a BNIB OBDII scanner, the wife drives a Toyota so its not going to be needed much in my house if it can't read a P38 or Classic.

By the way I noticed in LR enthusiast (its on the top shelf with all the other masochist mags in my local newsagent:D) that someone is selling a scanner that can do most stuff for a P38 but at £400 I might wait till my one starts to really play up before I take the plunge:rolleyes:
