Hi, The exhaust heatshield fell off my P38 yesterday, it had been rattling for a while. Has anyone run without one, I pressume the floor gets very hot. I have heard of fixing it back on with extra long jubilee clips but then I wonder if the sheild would work as I pressume there should be a space between it and the box. The box seems in good order except for a small pinhole from one of the welds which I could fill. Any ideas would be wellcome. Thanks
there should be no problem as the shield is shaped, the bits that are welded are bent so they touch the main body and leave the rest of it away from touching! 2/3 clips and 5 mins will save a good few quid, put cash to one side for when it goes completely!
mine ratled something terrible at idlke so i shoved a old bit of copper pipe between it and the box! since been changed!

Yes you can get metal cable ties, I use stainless ones at work regularly. The big down side is the gun required to tension and cut them, well over £400
i like jubilee clips so much all of a sudden.....
