Hi all,
I have a 2001 4.6 litre V8 and parked it one evening outside a friends house and we watched two dvd's. When I wanted to leave it would turn over but not fire. I posted this problem and asked for advice. Eventually I sorted it out. Apparently the model or year I have is susceptible to wireless door bells, house alarm units, remote controls etc etc. The frequency had been changed by one of these thingys and I had to get my local Range Rover repairer to stick his thing into it to realign the frequency. I am apprehensive about parking it near houses. Nice car but a bloody nightmare when you can't leave it near wireless electrics in this wireless electric world.:mad:

Unusual for an 01 plate to have probs, but it will be the RF unit picking up spurious signals from wi-fi, door beels and the like. Easy cure though; £160ish from Island 4x4 gets a new RF Unit shielded from these signals, 10mins to fit, no more probs!

Make sure that you have the latest RF receiver installed and you shouldn't have a problem, although it sounds as if it was a loss of sync not caused by RF interferance. Buy yourself a Syncmate from Blackbox solutions and re-sync it yourself next time.

Unplug the ariel from the rf reciever, I have a 51 plate with the latest reciver and still had problems, just means you have to hold your remote close to the rear drivers side window for it to be picked up. but as mentioned above it sounds as if it had lost synch. get a synchmate as recomended it will save you money in the long run,

There were three variants altogether. I think an 01 plate would have the Mk2 version. You need the Mk3. If you buy one, DON'T buy one from Ebay. Unsrupulous buggers on there sell the old ones masquerading as new ones. You can't readily tell one from another as there's no part numbers printed on them.
