hi everyone just bought range rover and every now and then when i select reverse or drive the engine will stall has anyone got any ideas please

Probrably the fuel quantity actuator, its in the fuel injection pump and is a dear part to get recond around £500 ish if taken to a proper pump specailist.

I had this problem does the fault occur if you hold the revs upto 1000k and shift into gear and does it then not stall? As said before fuel quanity actuator recon pump £500+ then fitting expect £400+ unless you got the gear to do it yourself

Try getting the base idle setting on the fuel pump increased by a couple of points with diagnostics. This may get you out of trouble for a while before shelling out £££££'s on a new or reworked pump.
