drivers window started to be a bit hesitant to go down and now its packed up wont go down now any one got any ideas apart from knackered

You have to find out whether it was hesitant because of the regulator or hesitant because of the electric supply failing.
You will have to get stuck in and take the door card off and check the loom, especially along the bottom of the door. It sometimes snags or rubs on the regulator or it could be sat in damp.
You will also be able to see any obvious faults with the regulator itself.
When you operate the switch can you hear the relay or motor try and do anything.

also lubricate the rubbers as these can snag the glass
