Hi all..
Just a quick one,,Does anybody know off hand how the fabric section of the door pad comes off? The bit with the middle speaker grill in it,Mine are grubby cream material, and i want to attemt to cover them in Lightstone Leather ( i have some spare),like the Autobiography....
Im away from home for a day or so,so i cant just go and whip the door pad off,and its just running through my mind..
Are they glued to the pad,,or fixed with clips from behind the pad?
cheers LTel

I Think They Are Glued To The Pad ..
Because When The Technician Fitted A New Middle Speaker For My P38 , He Took Off All The Pad ...
I Wish You Can Find Better Way Than This ...

Good Luck .

Hi,

Did you find the good way to do it?

Hi
Have had both a 2.5 DSE 96 and a 2.5 DHSE 98 apart...
The fabric covered part is a plastic/card (like the roof lining) with the cloth/fabric part glued too it..( you cant just remove the fabric from the section)..

The actual section (on the 98) simply forces into a recess channel in the door card.It has a lip running around the edge of the fabric covered part that acts to hold it in place..

The same idea on the 96, but had 3 spots of glue on the rear.Which took some gentle persuassion to release...

The back of the door cards are solid, and give no access to the back of the "fabric panel" so as to punch it out....Although to be honest,im sure the factory leather covered ones,do bolt on somehow from the rear..

Any more info, drop me a line, and i;'ll try describe better..
