Assuming you put the batteries in the remote the right way up ;) have you checked the new batteries are actually good?

yep, checked batteries and are right way up, car not accepting key

It may be that the Key fob rolling security code has got out of sync with the BECM. I think there is info in the handbook on this and there is definately info in RAVE on how to resync.
Can't exactly remember the routine but it's something like put the key in the ignition and turn to position 2 while holding the unlock button on the fob. THIS INFO MAY NOT BE EXACTLY CORRECT  but it is something along those lines.:D

The one time I had a similar problem was due to flat batteries in the remote. To resync the key try the following: Put key in ignition and turn to position 2. Turn ignition off and remove key. Exit vehicle and close driver's door. Put key in driver's door lock and press lock button on remote and turn key to lock position and hold for 5 seconds. Release lock button and turn key to horizontal. Enter emergency access code as per owner's handbook. Now try the remote.
Hope this helps,
Mike

thanks for replys,,,,,,,, i am making progress,,, put the EKA code in and the alarm and lockout have gone.................engine disabled still there
can open door without alarm blearing out now
red light on fob is working and door will open on key but not on remote
there is no reaction to the fob at all when trying the central locking,,,,,, i think the key is out of sych with the remote on the door

the key fob has got to go to landrover and be reprogrammed so the car accepts it,,, main agent job im afraid............... been quoted £50.00 + vat + parts
have to get it down to them as they dont have a recovery vehicle

The dealer is having a laugh, the keys are programmed to the lockset bar code at manufacture. If the car needs its EKA inputting the resynch of the key needs doing AFTER.The main task is to get the EKA into the Becm - follow the instructions to the letter.

the EKA code has gone in ok, but the fob is not working, the red light flashes when you press it but its doing nothing,,,,,, you can open drivers door with key but have no central locking or engine
strathstones have said they need to reprogramme the car to accept the key

thats an interesting motorbike you have in your picture, I can't make out what it is and it's bugging me LOL :confused::confused: May I ask what it is please??:D:D:D

The problem you have is that the code in the BECM and the code in the imobiliser ecu are out of sync - I have had it happen to mine a couple of times. Call out your nearest independent with test book he will look at the codes and re enter the imobilser code - job done in less than 5 mins

thanks mate, but i live in beeston, nottingham and i carnt find anybody mobile that will come and do it
tried looking and phoneing all day and nobodys interested
