Hi just picked up the new (to Me) rangy :D one small hiccup is that when you move the selctor across the H gate to Low Ratio the bally thing beeps and Select Neutral falshes constantly. However it does seem to select the LR gears....any ideas???

hi,make sure you are stopped before doing this.
 
funny your having this problem, i had two range rovers in over the weekend with the same faults. the first was the transfere box control unit under the passenger seat and the second beasts problem was the stepper motor had seized on the transfere box, its a pretty common failing as most people never use the low box on range rovers so they tend to get dry joints in the control unit and seized stepper motors. if you dont have a rovacom system to test it with take the stepper motor of first and power it direct to see if it motors in both directions, if it does the problem is the control unit.
 
Cheers, I've got a feeling it will be the stepper as i've only just bought and the previous owner (extreamly well serviced and looked after though it has been) was a Single mum....can't see that she has used LR much lol...how easy are they to change out?
Don't havea rovacom myself...anyone in the NE Durham/middlesbrough area that can help....I have beer!
