Hi
I have found my in tank fuel pump is faulty.
The late half of last week i had lots of air i the fuel line and problems starting.
On saterday i dropped the tank to get to the in tank fuel pump.
I expected to find the fuel pipe cracked of perished, but to my supprise i found the fuel pump was a bit lazy. I put 12v to it and after a while spooled up to full speed.
I assumed it was a bit of muck on the motor brushes or something.
Checked there was no air leaks for the fuel pipe by occluding the pipe, and all was fine.
Re-assembled everything and wow, what a difference!! dont know how long the pump has been lazy for, but i really noticed a difference once it was working properly.
Well, yesterday, it appears to have failed again....
So, i am looking at replacing the in tank pump...
I have been to the main stealership, and they have quoted about £185 for the entire sender unit complete.
Ebay sell similar for about £90.
I only need the pump, which is a bmw part, and dissconnects from the rest of the sender unit assemby.
Does anybody know a good source for this pump??
Or, does anybody know of a good source for the whole unit??
I need to replace this as i cannot depend on the car, as it struggles to start and is down on power.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks i advance
